Exceptional property
The Domaine de Beaulieu benefits from marvellous grounds of 13 hectares. It is situated on the banks of Lake Geneva, where the property is surrounded by vineyards, fields and forests that ensure absolute privacy. The property enjoys uninterrupted views of the lake and the
Alps.
The drive of the property is bordered by trees (poplar, maple, beech) and is shared by the mansion house, constructed in 1811. The secondary property, called ‘La Gentilhommière’, was built around 1811.
Today the Gentilhommière has some 600m2 of living space, with richly decorated and spacious interiors.
The main building at Beaulieu was constructed in 1811 by the owners at the time. It has retained its authenticity and much of the original décor and works of art. The most spectacular feature is the lakeside façade, which was added to the main building in 1827. The
interior has only been slightly altered in the 20th century. The entrance is on the east side.
Through the vestibule, a corridor gives access on the north side to various service rooms and a magnificent staircase. To the south are six magnificent reception rooms. On the first floor, the rooms are served by a large corridor. There is a magnificent central room with a Carrara
marble fireplace and 10 superb bedrooms. On the second floor there are several attic bedrooms, which were used by domestic staff in times gone by.
Naturally, this superb property will have to be redesigned in order to provide modern standards of comfort and convenience, including bathrooms, dressing rooms, kitchen, electrical installations and a heating system.
Note that the property is subject to the rural land law (LDFR).
